Italian Verde Sauce w/ Anchovies & Capers
This delicious sauce can double as a dressing and a sauce depending on what you are making. I use it on lamb, steak, fish, eggs, and as a salad dressing. The depth of flavor from the ingredients elevates anything you add it to, and a tablespoon goes a long way!
Ingredients List:
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
Finely grated zest of 1 lemon
1 Tbsp salted capers
6 anchovy filets
6 garlic cloves
1 1/2 cups Basil leaves (or flat leafed parsley - leaves only)
1/2 tsp fresh black pepper
pinch of salt (if desired, to taste)
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a high powered blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Pour into a fridge safe container (recipe makes approximately 1.5 cups sauce).
